Professor Sayma

Chair

Professor of Energy Engineering and Director of Thermo-Fluids Research Centre at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical, City University of London. Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Coordinator of the OMSoP project, the SolGATs project funded by InnovateUK and MOST both aim at developing micro gas turbine technology for concentrated solar power, and currently running NextMGT EU training programme.

David Sanchez

(Co-Chair)

Professor of Energy Systems and Turbomachinery, University of Seville. Senior member of the research group in Thermal Power at USE, with an interest in microturbines and small turbomachinery applied to renewable and clean energy technologies. Current Chair of the Cycle Innovations Committee of the Gas Turbine Segment of ASME (formerly International Gas Turbine Institute) and Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power.

Radu Anghel

Capstone Turbine Corporation. Director of Sales for Europe, Russia and CIS. Mechanical engineer from the Technical University of Timisoara, Romania, and MBA from the Kellogg Business School in Chicago. Several years of experience in international sales and international business development.

​Christer Bjorkqvist

Christer Björkqvist, Managing Director and co-founder of ETN, an international membership association with global members from the whole value chain in the field of gas turbine and turbomachinery technology research, development and operation. Co-ordinator of ETN’s Micro Turbine Working Group and several industry/EU-funded R&D and ISO standardisation projects. Strong knowledge in energy policy, management and project development with a graduation from Lund University in Sweden.

Tony Hynes

A director in Aurelia Turbine, a Finnish OEM of Micro Gas Turbines with past experience in GE, Calnetix, Capstone and Bowman turbines. Tony has excellent track record of value increasing deals with wide international network in field of power generation.

Mohsen Assadi

Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Stavanger, Norway. Experience in experimental studies on fuel flexibility applied to micro gas turbines. Visiting Profssor at Sheffield University, providing advice on Carbon Capture and Storage in Gas Turbine plants. Chair of the low carbon Technical Committee of the European Turbine Network and member of the EU Academy of Sciences (EUAS).

Shaun Sullivan

R&D Program Manager and Principal Engineer at Brayton Energy, an innovative R&D firm dedicated to making meaningful contributions in the field of environmentally responsible, sustainable energy production. Project experience includes microturbines, energy storage, concentrating solar power, hybrid electric gas turbine vehicle engines, biomass combustion, and compact heat exchangers (2008 - Present)

​​Juan Manuel Carrasco Solís

Professor of Electronic Technology at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Seville. Prof. Carrasco is also a co-founder of Green Power Technologies, a company providing solutions focused on grid integration of solar and wind energy, as well as on grid stability and energy transport.

Alberto Traverso

Associate Professor of Energy Systems, University of Genoa, and member of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre. Visiting research scholar at NETL (USA) and member of the Board of Cycle Innovations Committee of IGTI-ASME. Vice-Review Chair for Turbo Expo’ 2017 and member of the International Advisory Committee for the Gas Turbine Society of Japan.

Keun Ryu

Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Director of the Turbomachinery laboratory at Hanyang University, Republic of Korea. Vanguard Chair of the Structures & Dynamics Committee of the Gas Turbine Segment of ASME since 2015. Chair of the Microturbines, Turbochargers & Small Turbomachines Committee of the ASME. Associate Editor of the Society of Tribologists & Lubrication Engineers.

Seyed M Mohseni

Dr Seyed Mohseni, a serial entrepreneur with over 15 years of successful track record in the field of power generation with focus on Micro Gas Turbines. He is the founder of Samad Power a specialised company in the field of MGTs.

​Federico Cernuschi

Head of Materials for Energy Research Group at RSE SpA – Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico, Mr. Cernuschi gained his degree in physics at University of Milan. Since 1990 he has worked on the development and characterisation of coatings and materials for energy applications. He has been responsible for several EU funded projects on gas turbine materials. He is author of more than 60 papers.
